BILL CLAYPOOLE
Administrative Bishop
Bill Claypoole is administrative bishop in Arkansas. He served in New Mexico and El Paso, TX as administrative bishop for 4 years prior to serving 12 years as Church Amalgamations and Affiliations coordinator for the Church of God. He pastored a church plant in Lexington, Kentucky for 2 years. He served in Oklahoma, Great Lakes Region and Northern New England as State Youth and Evangelism director. He was state evangelist in Kentucky for several years, associate pastor at the Lexington-Liberty Church of God and a State Youth Board member. Brother Claypoole has a Master of Ministry from Southwestern Christian University, a Master of Arts in Church Ministries from the Pentecostal Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate in Ministry at Okanagan Bible College.

JONATHAN POPE
Youth & Discipleship Director
With more than 18 years of youth, children and pastoral ministry experience, Johnathon brings a wealth
of knowledge to the great state of Arkansas. Before stepping into pastoral leadership at the LifeSpring
Church, Johnathon held youth and children’s pastor positions at three churches in Alabama over a span
of 12 years.
The Pope's have a passion for the Jerimiah Generation and believe that God is raising up
leaders for right now ministry to impact the world with the Gospel of Jesus. We believe that God is
breathing on kid and student ministries across this state and that revival is being birthed in the hearts of
those who lead them. We are praying for God to breathe into those who are leading the charge to bring
the life changing presence of Christ to students in Arkansas!
NICOLE POPE

Along with serving the Arkansas State Office, Nicole serves alongside her husband Johnathon who pastors Little Rock Church of God. In their 18+ years in ministry, Nicole has served as Children’s Pastor, youth leader, ministries coordinator and administrative assistant.
Nicole currently serves as the College Pastor to After Glow Young Adults while also enjoying writing
children’s holiday programs and children’s ministry literature. Above all else, Nicole enjoys being a wife to Johnathon and mother to Nolan and Brody.

Arkansas is a beautiful place. Called “The Natural State,” Arkansas offers a wide variety of the splendors of nature, rising from the lowlands of the Delta to the soaring heights of the Ozarks. Into this grand gala of God’s creation the Church of God arose. Predating the existence of a local congregation, the Church of God Evangel began receiving letters from Pentecostal saints in the state testifying of their enjoyment of the periodical. Finally, in 1916 with the organization of a local church in Poplar Grove, Arkansas, the Church of God established a beachhead in the Natural State.
In the ensuing century the Church of God expanded from corner to corner of Arkansas. Today, the Church of God can be found in larger cities such as Little Rock and the surrounding metropolitan areas as well as in many smaller towns and hamlets. Yes, even in distant farming areas the Church of God can be found, giving a living witness to a Risen Christ and the power of Pentecost.
Our mission is far from complete. Thousands await the impact of a powerful message of deliverance and freedom found in Christ. The Church of God in Arkansas is accepting the mandate of our Lord to carry this message to every living soul in the Natural State and expand the borders of His Kingdom!
